The fire has marched across 258 square miles of forest and grasslands at the southern tip of the Rocky Mountains. It’s destroyed dozens of homes. Thousands of families have evacuated. President Joe Biden on Wednesday approved a disaster declaration for parts of drought-parched New Mexico hit by wildfires. That will bring funds to help people in the areas devastated by fire since early April.
