Feel like eating some pancakes? For 60 years, the International House of Pancakes chain has fueled the masses with syrupy, Rooty Tooty, Fresh and Fruity goodness in short and tall stacks of fame!
So why would a successful franchise want to mess with something as well known as the IHOP logo?
Inquiring minds might get to find out on Monday. The breakfast food giant teased on its Twitter feed that IHOP will change to IHOb (flipping the P upside down)—and the reason is to be revealed on June 11. IHOP issued polls for followers to vote on what the “b” might stand for:
Biscuits? Bacon? Breakfast? Barnacles?
A chain employee supposedly “leaked” an announcement that the company will be offering “Better Burgers” soon—but that could just be more public relations hype.
On the IHOP website, a counter ticks away the seconds until the “big reveal.” But more than anticipation about getting the answer, most commenters on social media just want IHOP to stay the same.
Even if the mystery is building some attention for the business, the idea of slurring out “IHOb” isn’t doing anything to entice approval from the majority. The general consensus seems to be that there’s no need to alter a recipe that was working well as it was!
