Today in Top Story: Hannah Harris reports on thousands of escaped minks and the effort to manage the damage.
Vandals freed thousands of minks at a northwest Ohio farm on Tuesday. Lion Farms’ owner guessed that 25,000 to 40,000 minks were released from their cages. But employees were able to corral many of the minks that remained on the property. An estimated 10,000 of the small carnivorous mammals were still missing Tuesday evening.

wow thats a lot of mink!
What a ridiculous thing to do
What a ridiculous thing to do! Why would someone think that setting a bunch a mink loose near a bunch of farms would benefit the minks or anyone else? It isn't going to help the minks because most of them will have to be shot by farmers to protect their crops and animals. Many will die of freezing temperatures, and the minks will kill many small animals. And now the farmers have to round them all up.
