Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Oxford University Press' new edition of William Shakespeare's works will credit Christopher Marlowe as co-author of the three Henry VI plays. It’s further evidence that the playwright collaborated with others on some of his most famous works.

Marlowe was born in 1564, the same year as Shakespeare. He was a playwright, poet, and spy for Queen Elizabeth I. Now he’ll share billing in the latest version of the New Oxford Shakespeare being published this week.

Scholars have long suspected that Shakespeare's plays included the work of others. But new methods helped researchers conclude that sections bore Marlowe’s trademarks.

"Shakespeare, like other geniuses, recognized the value of other people," Gary Taylor, a professor at Florida State University and principal investigator of the new work, says. "What is Shakespeare famous for? Writing dialogue—interactions between two people. You would expect in his life there would be dialogue with other people."

In Shakespeare's time, there was great demand for new material for the first mass-entertainment industry. A relatively small group of authors worked feverishly to meet this demand.

A team of 23 scholars looked afresh at Shakespeare’s plays. They used computers to reveal language patterns, trends, and associations—analyzing not only Shakespeare's words, but also those of his fellow authors.

Oxford University Press editors concluded that 17 of 44 works associated with Shakespeare had input from others.

I have so many awesome ideas for a book I'm writing but I just haven't had time to write them down. :D
@Sara,- I haven't heard of the KDWC.

@Wyn

I get it. Right now for me, it’s finding time to actually sit down write. (Or making time would be a better word) congrats on starting a new page ;)

@Sara I haven’t heard of it either

@ wyn

I finished a two chapters on two different books over break, but then school started up again, and I have been swamped with math physics and music, I'm acting as a nun in sound of music and that is taking up most of my time.

@ Abigail/ this is wyn

I have been in play over the past week as well and that plus school just leaves no extra time to write. : (

@Everyone

Hey, everyone!! Sorry, I've been busy, so I haven't been on here for a while. How are your stories going?

@Amelia B @Belwyn

@Amelia B, I understand :). Recently, I've been waking up early to get writing done before school starts.
@Belwyn, cool! Have fun with your show.

@Scarlett/this is wyn

I got to work on some of the book I am writing over the weekend, but that was the first time I got to write on it in a long time. :D

@Belwyn

That's awesome. I hope you keep working on it! :D

I put away the project I was supposed to publish a few months ago. Last Sunday, I brought it back out for consideration.

@Scarlett, I didn't know you

@Scarlett, I didn't know you were getting published! That's awesome! @everyone I've been super busy with writing classes at an online program called Home2Teach (Idk if you guys have heard of it and/or done it). I've also been preparing for adulthood but I have been writing my Sci-fi series. I have sent book 1 to beta readers. My parents are reading it too. I did 2-3 of serious editing and sent it to beta readers as a late Christmas present back in January. I've heard back and now will be doing final edits before proofreading. Then by the end of Summer I hope to publish on Amazon self-publishing. I'd be happy to share snippets and characters and anything else you guys want to see regarding book 1. I've written 1 and 1/2 chapters of book 2 (I'm not going in order for this book which has been weird. I wrote chapter 2 and half of chapter 20, lol, when I got inspired). I might not have much time to write in the Summer (I'm going through some major changes in my life) as I get used to changes. I'll try to keep up here but I'd be happy to share what I've completed so far. I have 13 underdeveloped ideas and 6-7 WIPs going (including the Sci-fi series) right now so that's been crazy in my writing (sorry this is a super long message btw! *facepalm*)!

@Scarlett

That's a fantastic idea! Maybe I should make myself get up early this Summer in order to write. I've been staying up later in order to write but I think it's wearing me down plus I never like what I wrote the next day which discourages me.

@everyone

I need to know if I'm not the only one with a dream to have a lakehouse in the woods with a typewriter. Is that just me or does anyone else think that sounds amazing! Not too far from town. You know, driving distance so I can get to friends.

@ Sara/ this is wyn

I’ve always loved the idea of a little cottage in the woods next to a blue, sparkling lake/pond and I love typewriters! Also being in the country but still close to civilization has also been one of my dreams too!

@Sara D

Congratulations!! You're really on your way to publishing. I'm so happy for you.
If you have any questions about the publishing process, please reach out. My first novel, The Summer of the Terrific Trio, was self-published when I was twelve years old. We're about to take the same route again. I hope that you enjoy the process and that your novel turns out awesome!!

@ All/ This is Bella

Aw! You guys are making me want to write! I always have ideas but never have time to finish them lol! :D

@Sara

I hope you get to live in your cabin by the woods :). Sounds amazing. I might drop by on occasion, lol!!

How are everyone’s writing projects going? Since we finished school I thought I would have more time to write but life is still so busy! :D
