Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Oxford University Press' new edition of William Shakespeare's works will credit Christopher Marlowe as co-author of the three Henry VI plays. It’s further evidence that the playwright collaborated with others on some of his most famous works.
Marlowe was born in 1564, the same year as Shakespeare. He was a playwright, poet, and spy for Queen Elizabeth I. Now he’ll share billing in the latest version of the New Oxford Shakespeare being published this week.
Scholars have long suspected that Shakespeare's plays included the work of others. But new methods helped researchers conclude that sections bore Marlowe’s trademarks.
"Shakespeare, like other geniuses, recognized the value of other people," Gary Taylor, a professor at Florida State University and principal investigator of the new work, says. "What is Shakespeare famous for? Writing dialogue—interactions between two people. You would expect in his life there would be dialogue with other people."
In Shakespeare's time, there was great demand for new material for the first mass-entertainment industry. A relatively small group of authors worked feverishly to meet this demand.
A team of 23 scholars looked afresh at Shakespeare’s plays. They used computers to reveal language patterns, trends, and associations—analyzing not only Shakespeare's words, but also those of his fellow authors.
Oxford University Press editors concluded that 17 of 44 works associated with Shakespeare had input from others.

No, I haven't read book zero, just the 6 in the main circle series. I started the first book of the series set before that one, I think it was either Green or Black, but I can't remember. I couldn't really get into that one. Those books that you've read of his sound interesting

Oooooh, those books. I've read one of them, but the Circle Trilogy is the real core story, so I'd read Black, Red, and White, if you want to know the story. Green can be kinda disturbing, but it's one of the major links between most of his books.

@Bethy: Yeah I know! My friend actually writes like that in my letters I get from her, and so it is like deciphering it! Like 'osm' is awesome, and things like that. Annoying sometimes! When I text, I am sure to spell out the words how they were meant to be spelled, unless I am in a big hurry.

@All: What are y'all's favorite genre to read? I have started liking historical fiction a lot more, as well as just fictional books that aren't fantasy, but not historical at all too. I like to call them "real life fiction" because they are about people in their life, but it is fiction, not historical people. Does that make sense? that is what I like to write as well.

I think I know what you mean, like books set in modern (or other) times but with realistic, made-up characters? I favorite to read as well as write is epic, high fantasy\adventure.

Oh the pain in having to try and put what I like to read in words XD Anything and everything really. I have phases, but I always love a good fantasy story (especially if it has dragons!) I also love books with epic sword fights and battles (so kinda like what Bethy said. I also like historic and realistic fiction, and books with a dash of romance. I’m always looking for book suggestions so if anyone has any let me know

For those of you into fantasy I just read this really good book called Heartless by Elizabeth Anne Stengl, it’s the first in a series, Tales of Goldstone Wood, and she’s a Christian author. There’s another book I just started that’s written by a bunch of different authors who call themselves A fellowship of fantasy. It’s an anthology called Fantastic creatures and all the stories I’ve read so far are clean. I like reading it because now I’m finding new authors to look into

I love dragons too!! I want one :). A nice one, I mean. One that has enough manners not to eat the chickens, lol. I would agree that a little romance is okay in books. People fall in love, that's the way God designed humans. But I don't like books that are all about it.

@Amelia B: I have been reading some Civil War historic fiction lately, and here are some good books: Drummer Boy of Vicksburg, Wind on the River, Silent Thunder, In My Father's House. I really liked the last one. It is about a Southern family that has to live through the war, and the main focus is one of the daughters, Oscie Mason, and the book starts when she is seven and ends when she is going to see her betrothed who was wounded in the war, she is like 20 or so then.
