The WORLDteen current events program is designed for pre-teens and young teenagers ages 11-14. WORLDteen editors select age-appropriate news that broadens young teens’ awareness of world events. In addition, stories in WORLDteen are written from an underlying biblical perspective, often integrated into the story. This helps readers develop discernment in the context of current events, building up both knowledge and wisdom. Online quizzes allow testing for reading comprehension.
WORLDteen consists of a print magazine delivered every other month and a website that features daily breaking news plus many more stories beyond those found in the magazine.
As a handy reminder and to provide structure for teaching current events, you’ll receive a weekly email that prompts you about a different topic each week and provides quick links to the online content. There is also a Teaching Guide with each new issue, providing additional tips and recommendations for teaching current events, as well as printable worksheets to make your current events study more effective.
The online Comments section following each news story allows readers to practice expressing their opinions by commenting on the stories, helping to prepare them for the exchange of ideas they will engage in as young adults. The Comments area is a safe, members-only monitored environment.
The structure, content, and biblical perspective of WORLDteen set it apart as a safe and effective program for teaching current events to today’s young teens.

The Rules of Engagement
Here are the rules in participating in the comment threads on this site:
Do not engage in personal attacks.
If someone attacks you personally (rather than attacking your ideas), do not return evil for evil.
Recognize that within the comment threads on the site, many of us may have intrinsically irreconcilable ideological or theological differences. This does not necessarily make us haters, bigots, heretics, ignorant, etc. It means we subscribe to a different point of view. We are all thinking people, uniquely created by and for God.
Post comments as if you were having an in-person chat in a very public place. That might mitigate any tendency to be harsh with one another.
We expect each of you to post comments with humility and respect.
